Spanish Club and Hispanic Honor Society
The Spanish Club is open to any Rickards student interested in learning
more about the cultures of Spanish-speaking
countries and having conversation practice in Spanish.
The Spanish Honor Society is a national organization that recognizes
excellent students of Spanish, and encourages further study of the language and
cultures of
The Sociedad Hispánica
Honoraria and the Spanish Club students participate in volunteer work related
to the Hispanic community. They also sponsor activities to educate RHS students
and faculty on the many Latin American and Spanish cultures.
In the past the Sociedad Honoraria and the
Spanish Club have hosted exchange students from Spain, collected stuffed
animals to donate to needy children that participate in the Center for Migrant
Education in Quincy, Florida, hosted a county-wide Spanish competition,
sponsored professional dance troupe performances at RHS, and organized
educational activities related to Hispanic Heritage Month.
